11/19/2021

Alliant, a nationwide digital credit union and one of the largest “challenger banks,” Chief Financial Officer Harry Zhu, was named a finalist in the Chicago Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) and the Chicago CFO of the Year Committee’s 2021 CFO of the Year award.

Zhu leads overall strategic planning at Alliant. His responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, accounting, procurement, treasury operations, and asset/liability management.

“Alliant has seen significant growth over this past year thanks to a dedicated, financially savvy team of experts like Harry Zhu,” said Alliant CEO Dennis Devine. “This nomination is a testament to Harry’s commitment to put our members first and provide best-in-class banking solutions.”

The award recipients and nominees were honored on Nov. 18 by the Chicago Chapter of FEI. The event honors senior financial leaders who have made significant contributions to a business or non-profit in the Chicago area.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the Chicago Chapter of FEI,” said Zhu. “As a digital credit union, we have taken steps to ensure our members get competitive rates and award-winning services which have been critical to our growth.”

Zhu, who has over 25 years of business and management experience, first joined the company in 2010. Through his tenure he has supported the business through a successful transformation from branch-based to pure-play digital, significantly increasing the revenue and profitability of the credit union.

In 2021, Alliant Credit Union reached a 620,000 nationwide membership milestone and received recognition through various awards, including being rated the best credit union in November 2021 by Business Insider and the best overall credit union in 2021 by CNBC.
